Homecoming Poem by Lindy Jean Kleinhans

Homecoming

By LJK

Coming home with wounded heart
I wished we never were apart
Amidst the silence I will dread
And emptiness would leave me dead

There was a silence when I opened the door
A wish that couldn't keep to score
I'd do whatever I did best
And in that silence, I'd invest

Then…. the night has turned to day
My heartfelt wish was here to stay
He walked into our home so bold
His essence in my heart was sold

"I am here, I'm here to stay"
I felt my life change straight away
"You are mine and I am yours"
Together we'll walk through many doors

You, my love, have filled me so
I want you never to let go
Walk with me on our final journey
Together at last with our passion and fury

This is your HOMECOMING my love
Blessings from friends and heaven above
I will love you with all that I am
I will do right by you as best as I can

You are finally home
