Homo Mobilis Poem by Andreas Classen

Homo Mobilis

(Chorus :)

Mobile man - short message service

Mobile man - short message mind

It's a straight line from flatrate to flatline

Mobile man - short message service

Mobile man - short message mind

The thumb is so much quicker than the brain.

(I)

You are publicly smalltalking

Entertaining whole subway cars.

Tell all your friends what you do - and with who.

You fry your brains with microwaves

but with you it makes no difference

(II)

You want your electronic tag

as soon as you can read.

You will always be on call all your life

for parents, governments or your wife.

They will always know where you are.

Have you ever wondered why they call it cell-phone?

(III)

If it breaks your life shakes.

Now you have to talk face to face,

you have to listen while I speak,

you must live instead of chat

and best of all: It's free!

A kid starved today because his mobile wasn't charged

so he couldn't ring up his mum

to tell him the way to the fridge.
