Honey, I Was Wrong Poem by Marquita Lawson

Honey, I Was Wrong

It's so unusual this thing called love
I've been delusional about it.
I thought I'd tried ALL that I could think of.
But honey I was wrong.

They're a mystery relationships are
I've been confused about them.
I always thought we'd always feel the same.
But honey I was wrong.

You got busy; I got bitter.
I just knew I was in the right!
I always thought you should hold the blame!
Ain't it a shame?

We sat down put our cards on the table;
I shared what I wanted you shared what you were able.
I thought we finally reached a general compromise
But honey I was wrong

You got busy; I got bitter.
I just knew I was in the right!
I always thought you should hold the blame!
It's such a shame!

Baby keep talkin' keep communicatin',
As long as we're positive we can't be negatin'.
We both know we want this thing to go on.
I'm all for tryin' it No more denyin' it.
'cuz honey I was wrong.
