Honey-Throats Poem by Ina Coolbrith

Honey-Throats

Honey-Throats, upon the boughs,
Piping all day long-
Sun-flecks in the leaves that house
Quickened into song-

In your notes a gospel lies-
Teach it yet to me! -
What the Maker in the skies
Meant His world to be.
