Honk For Peace Poem by Lyndsey Grant

Honk For Peace

Honk for peace
And so we did
Not the first
we waited for the braver

An hour long car ride
Fueled on slick conversation
Charged deep thoughts
Easily ignited

So honest
We tell our secrets
Kept locked in private thought

We are bare
No preconceived notions
Just the here
Just the now

The blue sky
Picturesque
Turns to gray
Chubby drops of rain
Foreshadows unpredictability

Our ride is over
The sun has come back
We exit
Changed
