Hope For Poem by Alejandro Torres

Hope For

If I told you
That at night
You haunt my dreams
Flaunting what could never be
Would you hold still
And let me enter your world
To show you what could be
Yours
If I told you that the silence
Hurts worse than your words
When we both hurt
When we both get scared
Would you stay quiet longer
Or just whisper
So we don’t shatter
If I mentioned
That I still love you
So long after
So much time later
Would you call me a liar
Or maybe just let me
Tip-toe in closer
If I said
It’s in your hands
Would you put them together
To crush the dreams
Or place them to your heart
To plant the seed
Of hope
For tomorrows
For today’s
For yesterdays long past
For love
Yet to be expressed
For moments
