Hoping To Find Poem by C.A. Morrow

Hoping To Find

I spent years rambling in my boyhood mind
Then more years searching this adult earth to find

A place of sun, a place with no rain
Never seeing, it's all the very same

For the heart only goes where the mind won't follow
Lead with one, and the road is marked with sorrow

Life's journey is long, and many a bridge is crossed
Energy, wishes, dreams, are hours spent and lost

For no one knows who really leads the soul
We toss a coin and make it our goal

Hindsight is nostalgia through heart-tinted glasses
God help me to appreciate the time as it passes

For all does pass into a myriad of illuminated memories
Some fade, and others are long cherished ceremonies

Yet, all is gone with yesterday's urgent gleam
For tomorrow can always be another happy dream
