Horses Poem by Anne Brooke

Horses

The horses returned
Just when we thought
They wouldn’t:

Galloping hooves
Sparked light,
Startling butterflies

And flashes of green
From the waiting earth.
They dance

In the sun,
Framed by sky
And autumn glow.
