How I Thought You Would Be Poem by Billie Marie Branson

How I Thought You Would Be

I thought you were you
I thought you were going to be true
Just like me
I am as warming as a cup of tea
I thought you were going to be honest

So you talk about me behind my back
I thought you would give me some slack
So I thought you were better than this
I know it was only a kiss

Okay so you're not ready
But come on let's just take it steady
Why can't we just be friends?
Come on let's get on the mend

So what you have changed your mind
Not all boys are this kind
I mean not everyone will give me a chance
Well not even after they see how I can dance

Not that I am good
But I still think they should
Ok so they won't give me a chance never mind
I think it's time for me to say bye
