Humility Poem by Parker Perrella

Humility

Humility-
Is what I need.
I stand tall indeed-
But finally,
My pride slips underneath me.
I have run the race steadily,
But Arrogance got ahead of me-
Now I'm chasing him down for the crown.
I plunder in the ruins of the once-holy town,
I topple down,
down,
down…
And when I reached the lowest ground,
I looked up toward the finish line-
Where I heard the victorious sound-
And when I looked up at the champion,
I saw Jesus- crowned.
