Hurts Like This Poem by Kathlyn Grace

Hurts Like This

He kissed her hand
as he walked out the door
he had nothing left to say
she had so much more
and she thought
hurt like this, doesnt go away.

He sat on the couch
as he read her note
a tale of goodbye
a happy ending lost in time
and he wrote on the bottom
of her very same note
hurt like this, doesnt go away.

He cried onto dirt
the same she hid behind
and he remembered her scars
stringing her wrists
and on her stone
he thought it should have said
hurt like this, doesnt go away.

You read this
and you think
of a time you cried
and you remember thinking
to yourself alone
hurt like that, never went away.
