Hush Poem by Shirley Harrison

Hush

Silence holds power
for good and for bad
I choose the silence in the good
when I'm following a path in the woods
following the silence in my soul disturbed by all the noise on the outside
I choose to listen rather than to speak
I choose to let all the ugly noise pass as if it hadn't arrived in the first place
there is little you can do about ugly noise, it comes with hurt and regret
yet there is so much you can do with silence, silence is followed by peace and quiet.
