Hyenas Of The Africa Poem by Okello Baloyi

Hyenas Of The Africa

Without the crossing of oceans
Liberals have forgotten the cries of their people
Future that costed our parent's life, was all for nothing
Children still must cross rivers for formal education
Which has also lost value to today's problems
Continent depending on western countries
Minerals extracted under our grounds
We can't no longer blame the real thefts
Cause, we are being terrorised by our own now
Corporates and government, working together
Not for the benefit of the nation but unleashing greed
Educated but still not employable or gain real life skills
Moving from country to country, just to put food on the table
In return, destroying the livelihood of the occupants
We have no leaders to refine the continent's purpose
Our participation on rigged votes and fruitless politics unearth the poverty
Rules adopted which are against our culture
