Oh, liquid light of life that flows
from deep within the Earth,
within whose arms the foetus grows
securely held in sweet repose
until the day of birth -
preparing for its birth.
Thou sparkling essence of Life's source,
thou precious sacred dew,
replenishing the vital force.
How recklessly Mankind ignores
the debt he owes to you;
the need he has for you.
Without your presence Life will end
and yet we treat thee ill.
Thy purity we should defend,
not let our fetid filth offend
each river, lake and rill;
polluting ev'ry rill.
Oh, liquid Light that falls as rain
and rises as the dew,
we beg forgiveness for the pain,
we vow respect to thee again.
We should be cleansing you
as we are cleansed by you.
