I Am Not A Gnome Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

I Am Not A Gnome

This is a poem
About how I am not a Gnome
Oh yes in Madison I am known
People say Hi as I roam
Around our town
Are you starting to groan?
Is that why you make that sound?
No my name is not Joan
No, she does not live in this home
And though I maybe intelligent
I am not a Gnome
Being 5 feet tall or better it should be evident
Plus I am not magical
And I am not imaginary
Let's be practical
Okay maybe I am scary
Or kind of weird
But my name is not Gary
Though I maybe hairy
I don't have a beard
So you see it's clear
I am not a Gnome
If Gary the Gnome has a home
It is not here
Or were you looking for Joan
I can't Imagine a guy named Joan
Or a girl with a beard
But anything is possible
These days living here
So maybe I am a gnome
And the cloudy sky is really clear
We all are standing on our heads
And everyone in the grave is alive
And black is the color red

Or I am not a gnome
And your alive and not dead
