I Am Shiba - Poem by Oluwatosin Richard Shiba Aribo

But the damn thing lies like a fossil in my mind
My senses are off'
I have permitted myself to
I am intoxicated'
I whirl and swirl in this stupor'
Huh, I prowl in this belief'
In this sky, l spread out my wings
Like the eagle
I am sniffing the under growth
Clawing the trees
Pissing in the corners'
Marking my territory'
I have swollen like the frog'
It's gone deeper than a chore,
It's become my religion
Lord knows
It has settled on my bones'
I cannot be saved
Gushing from self'
I have latched on to this'
I was born into this'
Me and this belief
Siamese till death
I am shiba
I must fight ever for my destiny'
