I Am Sorry Poem by Chris Townsend

I Am Sorry

Rating: 5.0

I am sorry forgive me, I have to be,
This annoying little person, this unsubtle me,
The rhythym is part of this tidy little plan,
These feelings form what I am,
I hold this person, this cold heart,
I know I cant be with you, we have to be aprt,
I am sad, I cry, I feel your pain,
Please forgive me, this seems a moment in vain,
I am sorry honestly, I should not have been,
I should have left the dogs of war, for the images I have seen,
A pretty person, my shadow of fun,
How was I to know, this war had begun,
I will come back, my passion to relive,
All this energy, all these feelings to give,
This distance the journey to far to make,
Please forgive me, my favourite mistake,
Dont take this personally, dont hold me true to my word,
Your quiet tears, your sorrow, these screams I have heard,
You cant capture something thats free,
I turn to face, all these haunting shadows of me,
Its hard to explain, this bitter, way too fast, game,
But a wild caged animal isnt yours to tame,
I made myself clear in the bitterness of the fight,
I said what i was, in this incadescent, hell of a night,
I left, my next feeling to feel,
In this distant image, this so very unreal,
Please dont think bad of me, I gave as good as I got,
This long since past, this memory I have not,
Still I want to touch, i want to feel,
This gentle creature, this skin to peel,
To see what lies within a warm embrace,
Round and round this human race,
