I Am Still Here Poem by Ayandare Mayowa

I Am Still Here

Through the window of your soul, I peep
On the door of your heart, I knock
Playing not on your weakness, emotion or sentiment
Appealing to your vast intellect and strength

Just so you know, I am still here
Seeking, knocking all these years
At one time, even me will labell me a nerd
But right now, can't get you out of my head

I see in you what I need
I smell in your kitchen what I feed
I know with or without excess means
With you, my soul is assured of peace

Wish you will forgive yourself for past blunders
Learnt the other guys you let in were confirmed burglars
So, here I stand, at your pace I let you heal
Yout heart now seem firewalled, can't complain, I know how you feel

Ambush you, I can't, just hope and pray this closed door be opened at will
But dissapointed all these years, you still doubt my love and will
Well, if and when time eventually prooves to you that I genuinely do care
I will... I sincerely do pray and hope I will still be here
