I Am What I Am Poem by Zie Marquez

I Am What I Am

I am the one who prepares you breakfast
Very early, I woke you up
I am the one who finds you clothing
Bathe you early in the morning

I am the one who pours you coffee
Every end of a tiring day
I am the one who can love you all the way
Smile at you when you frown at me

I am the one who sits near the doorway
Typing, calculating the task that is set before me
Balancing the figures to the books I lay
To meet the deadlines I pray

I am the one who makes beautiful rhymes
Of happiness and pain from my mind
Keeping my paper and pen in my calm time
To make verses I did find

I am what I am, you knew me
A wife and a mother to my family
A worker in the office everyday
And a poet so you can hear me
