I Had A Dream Poem by Masa MbathaOpasha

I Had A Dream

I HAD A DREAM

I had a dream, a fantasy
Of hope and love for humanity,
Imminent like the sun unseen,
An urgent pull towards life,
A force of steady timelessness,
the human fondness of peace!
Lovers of laughter, freedom and joy,
Companions of dust dancing in the sky
From deepest sadness entirely relieved
Pedestrians by nature, pedestrians by choice
Unspeakably dear, the slowness to rejoice
the walkers halting and standing, in perfect happiness
Wars: transitions suppressed, permanently out of mind
The green of the meadows in city parks, amazing moments,
Bliss players running through eternity, painless pure delight
A gentle ringing of church bells at nomadic hours, ecstasy!
