I have gone from hospital to hospital Poem by Raúl Gómez Jattin

I have gone from hospital to hospital
palliating my madness
A madness that during many years
helped my imagination in my poetry
but that later became menacing
and put my life in danger
Now - without it - I write these verses
and I don't know if I have gained or lost
I don't know if you my reader - will notice this change
or if you will lament that my verses
have now become calm and tranquil
I hope that nature has taken pity on me
and that you don't miss the fervour of those days
