I Have Seen Your Tears Poem by Mishy Bashert

I Have Seen Your Tears

Glassy eyes
Tightened face
Lips locked secure
Holding in your insides
Forcefully and determined

There are no tears here
But there are
I have seen your tears

Your tears astound me
I ruminate on if I'm worthy

Your tears frighten me
That you will find us too much

Your tears relieve me
You can see mine too

Your tears fill me
Let me be your tear collector

Glassy eyes
Transform into flowing streams
Sparkling in the sunshine
Water creatures that we are
You are pressed against me
Swirling in the sea
Gripping on to you
Please don't let go

For they are only tears
And I have seen them
