I know
you know
that i know
you knew

Not only that:
you wishfully hope
that i hope fruitfully.
You cry
that i may not cry,
as you laughed
that i may laugh

Your teachings were good
as good as the ear
that listened,
of blessed tidings
and good life you sung
And swore it be the truth,
only the truth of darkness
and pain
remained in your chest

I know
you know
that i now know:
You lit the candle
and told me it's the sun,
You sugar-coated ugali
and told me it's a cake.
Your words painted the picture
Yet words
dont realy paint the picture

And now that light has
dawned on me mama
Don't cry that i may not cry
For like you
my chest will shield
the ones that need be
