I Light A Lamp Poem by Shubham Agnihotri

I Light A Lamp

I light a lamp when I need some might
When I feel low but I am right,
When darkness is unbound
around here my sight,
No one gives a bit of heed
to my invisible plight.

I light a lamp when I am alone,
When my eyes have tears frozen in the mid of
Course, I want to melt them so I get rid of
Frost, and I feel the flameless
fire in my heart so deep and down.

I light a lamp when I want to smile,
Against my own shadow; seems me guile.
Against all those sucking souls for a while,
Think me a girl as so much puerile.

All these vicissitudes of life I am through,
Rough and tumble but I have to grow,
I kindle a lamp when It is time to move on,
To burn some bad dreams in comatose.
