It's 2 a.m. and I'm wide awake.
Alone in this lounge where I can think.
Recalling the people I spent time with about an hour ago.
Watching them try, try so very hard
to live their lives to the fullest.
Trying so very hard
to leave something to be remembered by.
I just sit back with my uncluttered life
and I don't care if I don't leave much.
For, whatever I leave will be that much more magnified.
It's pitiful to watch them try so very hard to make the most of things.
Try so very hard to make their worlds so full.
I'll just sit back and cry for them.
I'll live my life as is comes.
I really don't care what you think,
you're probably all wrong anyway.
I'm happy with the way I am
and I know I'll get by.
I watch as you rush your days away
trying so very hard to leave your mark.
I'll take my days in stride
and be happy with them.
I'll rush my days for my own convenience.
I'll still be able to recall my days with you
and happily cry about the zaniness.
If I begged you to see it my way
you'd tell me I was crazy.
But I don't care cause I'm happy.
I don't care cause I'll get by.
