I Looked Back Poem by Pushyami Vemulapalli

I Looked Back

As years pass by
I started to grow older and older
When in moments of solitude,

I looked back,
Only to find that
Down the memory lane,
A set of frowns and flaws
Waver to and fro in my mind
I wonder whether the vacillations
In the mind ever come to a stand still

I looked back,
Only to find that
Life’s a bundle of promises,
Wishes unfulfilled,
And feelings unsaid.
I laughed at the silly things that
Bothered me once upon a time.

I looked back,
Only to find that
Destiny is not a matter of chance
But a matter of choice
Even then…………
We hesitate to accept the
Things as they are,
And alas!
We hesitate to change
And thus
I looked back only to find that
“Change is the way of life”
