I Love The Way Poem by Nellie Kate

I Love The Way

I love the way you brush your finger through my hair while I read.
I love it when you lay your arms on my legs while relaxing.
I love when you ask me to draw a name on your arm.
Even though that name isn't mine.

I don't care if you talk about some girl that isn't me.
I love it when you attempt to braid my hair.
And even though it sucks,
At least it's you.

I don't care if it isn't me you look at.
I just love the rush.
The way you make me feel.
That is something I've never craved.

No one has made me feel like this.
Only you have.
It's sad I can't have you,
But it's fun to play.

You're a drug I can't get over.
An overdose that kills me everytime.
A habit I don't want to quit.
A drug that consumed me by the desire to be with you.

It's not an obsession.
It's a yearn.
For someone who doesn't even want me.
But I stay anyway.

This game we play never ends.
But I'm glad it's me who's playing with you.
No wrong answers.
Only the right way.

I never want to stop.
Even though the red light is over you,
I don't ever want to hit the breaks.
I'll keep driving like it's green that hovers you.
