I'M Forever Poem by Gary Winkel

I'M Forever

I'm forever beholden
to moments lost and
found in the crisp blue
winter sky over the city,
where I sit among strangers.
I must look past
what I'm feeling.
Past the colored red hair
on the porcelain face.
Past the tee shirt breast
breathing my vision.

I'm forever seeing
dreamlike stillness
whose movement is subtle.
No confidence under hat
in skin of silence.
Landing on alone.
Ten years in the same time
it takes a head to turn
with ponytail.
Short stories
keeping me company.

I'm forever smiling tears
falling on the path
that flows through
a heart of blues beating
rhythm to balance
my moody contemplation
with light,
shimmering on solitude
in the home
of the word
and images.
