I'm Going In Poem by Daria Beg

I'm Going In

Rating: 5.0

I find myself in at the deep end,
A bold one, but I just pretend.
Now my feet are buried in the cold sand
And I need your help to shake off this land.
Don't just stand there, give me a hand!
Please help me, my dear ol' friend!
At my lows, besides me you stand;
I wonder at times if you're a godsend.

Hand in hand, we'd gone with the flow,
Together we waited for the first snow.
You told me everything I wanted to know.
You taught me how to let go,
How to deal when life comes to a low,
How to get over a tough blow,
How to stop looking for the end of a rainbow.
You also told me no.

Now tell me, where is the comfort you used to bring?
What are those words we used to sing?
I cannot remember the song playing
While we were dancing up high on the wing,
Jumping fiercely to the beats of Offspring.
The fact is, we never got to welcome spring.
Still and all, it's a wonderful thing,
Life mixed with an uncertain feeling.

I no longer care, I'm letting everyone see,
I'm putting myself out there and it feels so scary.
I've never taken any risks to become what I might be
And here I thought I stood like an oak tree.
Now I'm done; I want to feel free,
I'm taking my time to become somebody.
Limb by limb into an unknown sea,
I'm going in, let the water engulf me.
