I'm Not Waiting Poem by Skylark Woodrow

I'm Not Waiting

What if it just hurts too much.....
To stay?
What if I just can't take it,
And live out my days?
What happens when I can't see the beauty in the pain?
Everyone keeps promising me that it will all be worth it,
But what if it isn't?

I can't keep living this way,
I can't keep waiting on something to change,
And I can't keep hoping in empty promises.
If I don't want to live like this, I will live differently.
If I want something to change, I will change it.
And if I want to be able to have hope in my future, I will be my hope.
I will grow and become all I need to survive,
And I will fight for a life worth living for.
