I'M Trees Poem by Izik Alcox

I'M Trees

rotting through life like a hollow tree,
pealing bark, snapped branches and dry roots,
water me I beg you give me some of your life,
I don't flower much anymore, my buds are few
fertilize me, give me something to like and want,
transplant me I need new soil, this soils full of rot
the corroded bed I lay my roots in has been harsh to me,
my hard wood is now turning soft
the squirrels dig their holes in me to hide their stach,
a thick security blanket of moss will slowly take my cares away
placing me in a euphoric state, to enlighten my slowly paced lonely last days
the road ahead of me was once tormented by grey days, leaving me empty with no friends
In my rotting state I shall move on and give my body back to the world
My children have been planted years ago and now their strong little boys
I must leave them though my time is up and I've enjoyed this life I was given
