I May Be Lying In The Gutter Poem by Hazel Connelly

I May Be Lying In The Gutter

Rating: 2.5

Hostility blocking my dreams
Tears, tears, I cried
My biggest fears it seems
Who am I deep inside.

On a night like this
My mind searches
The depths of reality
While darkness lurches.

Ending this journey in my life
What's ahead I do not know
Where uncertainty is rife
Forward, forward, I must go.

I may be lying in the gutter
But I'm looking up at the stars
Away with my pride I utter
Deep inside is full of scars.
