I Missed You Poem by Riya Gangwar

I Missed You

I missed you last night
When I picked my pen to write
And no one to distract me
From the dreams I had to share
When the glitter upon my brow
Reflected the golden wry
And the frolicking of my heart could share
The love it once embraced
I missed you in the morning
When the day broke too early
And I had time to suck the dew
From the hope it had to pump
When the silence of my peace within
Reached out beyond my being
And the strengthening of my hand to work
The bricks I had to build
I missed you even then
When you trapped my gift to doom
And I reached beyond the skies
From the lows you banished me
When the time is come and gone
Recalling my enslavement to you
And my Vindication becomes obvious
The proof of a brand new day
