I Mourn For Her. Poem by Katie Barber

I Mourn For Her.

I mourn for my childhood,
I mourn for the people who surrounded me,
I mourn for the little girl with big dreams and ideas,
I mourn for her ambitions,
I mourn for the soul of the child who once lived,
I mourn deeply,
Heavy heartily,
I strive to bring her ideas alive even though I am not,
Her cries deep inside are hard to ignore,
I dream for her,
I dream, I mourn, I hope,
I love.
