I never stand in past or future,
For neither truly exists.
Time cannot be broken
Into what has gone
And what has yet to come.
The things I did in what is called the past
Are still done now.
Their reality has not vanished;
It lives within this moment.
What we are doing now
Is the only reality we ever touch.
I love this truth:
That now can never be lost,
Yet neither can it last.
It is forever arriving,
Forever becoming itself.
I have no right to question now,
For what I did years ago
Still stands within now.
I remain where life unfolds,
Watching my now
Grow as now.
I will always stand in now,
Regardless of the constructs
Called past and future.
What I did in my younger years
Will always remain done—
Not elsewhere,
But here,
In the eternal now.
