I Pray


I pray to the Lord today,
that you will come home to stay,
I pray that our lives will be happy together,
So we can live as one forever,
I pray that you will see me for me,
And not what you want me to be,
I pray that I can understand you and your ways,
So we don't have to fight for the rest of our days,
I pray that I am the only woman in your life,
After all I am your wife,
I pray that you will stop and see,
That all that you have done has done nothing but hurt me,
I pray that you love me enough to respect my heart,
Because over a year now you have torn it apart,
I pray that you will miss me the way I miss you,
And that you will open your eyes to what is true,
I pray to the Lord today,
That you will come home to stay.
