I Pray To Thee Poem by Brad Adams

I Pray To Thee

Oh God, my dear Heavenly Father,
earthly father, judgmental dad, my only man face, man heart, empty fulfilling approval
my distant expecting mother with quick embarrassed hug of sincere peace, my taste of unfound acceptance,
my wife, deserving, patient, disappointed woman,
my hopeful childish self, of innocent yearning
my cruel fear mind begging for safety, seeking for certainty, giver of reactionary direction
my faceless love, desire of my youth, bosom of refuge, oh beautiful Isolde with white hands reaching for me,
my higher self of sober intellect, the me with me before, during, and after
I pray to Thee.
