I Remember Poem by Vianca Borrero

I Remember

I stand here
The place we first met
I stare along the park
Memories rush back to me
Holding hands by the waters edge
Picking flowers for you
Kissing for the first time under the cherry tree
Getting down on one knee
Promising the world for just a part of your life
To stand by your side and for us to be one
Just the chance to bury my soul into yours
Everyone couldnt see
Couldnt see that you were a diamond in the rough
Just looking into your eyes
Really looking into your eyes i could see you gleam
Promised you the world
Just for the chance to bury my soul into yours
My gleaming diamond
I remember it all
The night of our wedding
Driving to the hotel
Holding your hand and kissing it softly
Smiling at you
You smiling back at me
I look back to the road
I see the truck turned over
I swerve
Cant control the car
Throw my arms over you to protect you
Blackness
Last words i heard
I love you
Wake up to doctors talking
'Cant believe shes the only one that made it'
No not my sweetheart
Scream
Cant stop screaming
I remember
This park holds my memories
My heart holds your soul
Your soul is buried into my soul
You live through me
The last words i hear every night
I Love You
I remember
