I Remember A Little And When Poem by Rich Harney

I Remember A Little And When

I remember but a little and when
Tomatoes rambled in the patch,
Lightning fingers came close to a snatch
And lock the gate and then the latch

Run light before the wood rake splintered
Hide me behind the phantom barn
The ghosts in there, they don't give a darn
How long the tail, how tall the yarn.

I'd pull the string— a risible thought,
Me of course and a green bean more
Before my neighbor's anger tore
Green afternoons(the cows a bore)

And she did love, I thought I saw her
Fighting a bone… from her toes,
A giggle she thought her so knows
But not let him see it… what shows.

Her own little days, must have seen
Some giddy young stratagems then
Tomatoes and green beans again
I remember but a little and when.
