I Saw Love Leaving Poem by Teacher Kevin

I Saw Love Leaving

We met once more.
A year had passed.
Walking through the door.
Love could not last.

She spoke of home.
She wore a ring.
No more to roam.
No songs to sing.

Her mind was set.
Her heart was bound.
Eyes filled with regret.
No common ground.

I stood so still.
Not ready to stay.
Against my own will.
She walked far away.

The bridge was burned.
The sky turned grey.
Lessons slowly were learned.
She could not stay.

A heavy, quiet grieving.
A choice made true.
I saw love leaving.
Love chose to leave.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about the pain of missed timing and the quiet dignity of letting go. It captures the moment two people reconnect, only to realize that their paths have permanently diverged because life moved on while they were apart.
