I Sit Poem by HEG George

I Sit

Although I sit where others sat
I know not what they thought
I cannot dream the dreams they dreamt
For the past cannot be sought

Yet though I sit where others sat
I cannot thoughts deny
That wonder what the thoughts they had
That times denied them try

When others sitting where I sat
Survey their land of dreams
Spare little thought for others sat
My dreams worth nought, they deem

When no one sits where others sat
And times have seen decay
Best take the time to dream our dreams
Lest lose our dreams today

For tomorrow brings a different day
That heralds bright and new
A day that others call their day
But, not for me or you
