ive been through road blocks and hurricanes
showing that no one could brake these chains.
ive been shattered and tossed about
when no one could hear me shout.
i needed someone to help me through
i dont know why i turned to you...

you used and abused me
youd flip out and accuse me.
nothing i ever did was right nor good enough
youd push me down when i thought i was tough.
you werent what i thought i knew
i dont know why i turned to you...

rock piles and lakes couldnt keep us apart
its sad that i stayed while you ripped out my heart.
with my face in the lake and the rocks in my back
i could see... my life was WAY out of whack!
i kept telling myself that this wasnt true
i dont know why i turned to you...

the lies that i spat and the bruises i hid
it was like i was the bottle and he was the lid.
i had a gash in my arm and a bruise on my chest
people started to notice i was way over dressed.
with the lies that i told and the lines that i drew
i dont know why i turned to you...
