I Was Never Apart Poem by Mystic Qalandar

I Was Never Apart

Before the dawn of being,
you were a breath inside the Unspoken—
a shimmer that trembled
between nothingness and His thought.

You were not remembered yet,
for remembrance requires form,
and form had not yet learned His name.

Then He whispered Be,
and the river of creation rippled through you.

You arrived—
a vessel of clay moistened with light,
a mirror shaped from the mist of His gaze.

He lent you hearing—
so the call of pre-eternity might awaken you.
He opened sight within you—
that you might behold
the brilliance veiled in every shadow.

Two strands were placed within your soul:
one woven of praise,
the other of pride.

And He said: Walk.

Listen not to the marketplace of illusions—
for its echoes sell dust as treasure.
Seek instead the whisper
that rises like dawn within your chest.

Those who adored their own reflection
were bound to the mirage—
imprisoned in thirst,
devoured by hunger for more.

But those who bowed in love's humility
were handed the chalice of camphor—
a wine that cools with annihilation,
a scent that breathes His tenderness.

They are the keepers of covenant,
shaking with the awe of Love—
lest even a glance of separation befall them.

They feed the hungry of spirit,
light the weary with remembrance,
and drench the parched hearts of strangers
with the dew of their own souls.

When asked, "Why do you give? "
they say:
"For His Face, and His Face alone—
we desire no return but His nearness."

Then their Lord gathers them
into the Orchard of Stillness,
where heat and cold dissolve,
where every motion rests in poise.

The trees incline as if in worship,
the fruits fall into open hands,
and grace flows like breath unlabored.

Their cups are purest silver—
lucid as remembrance,
bright as the unveiled heart.

They drink from Salsabil,
the stream that sings of Knowing,
the fountain that mirrors Infinity.

Around them revolve
the souls of beauty—
forever young,
forever bright.

And when your gaze enters that horizon,
you will not behold paradise—
you will behold yourself:
the heart made kingdom,
the soul become throne.

This is the Great Dominion—
where the slave becomes beloved,
and the lover becomes Love,
where the drop remembers its sea
and declares in silence:

I was never apart.
