I Wish You Were Here Poem by Brittany Sczech

I Wish You Were Here

I wish you were here to see me cry
And be the only one to ask me why

I wish you were here to wipe my tears
And bravely fight away all of my fears

I wish you here to hold my hand
And take me off to another land

I wish you were here to hold me tight
And protect me carefully through the night

Protect me from myself
And the thoughts I withhold

That transform into nightmares
Horrible stories I haven't told

That's why I need you, I can't be alone
I wish you were here, and not on my phone
