Icarus 9: Act I



As a boy
I witnessed an occurrence.
The sun had just begun to wander
the bluish, forbidden skies.
The smell of charred metal and vegetable
swirled through the baron streets of the morning.
The snows of yesterday stood frozen
in misshapen clumps here and there.
My eyes caught a flying machine
who's sound was foreign and frightening.
Before I could recall its shape,
it dropped the cell of doom...
