If I Were Poem by Cody Averesch

If I Were

If I were a minority the things I could do are endless,
I could get my way when I really shouldn’t,
I could sue over any small thing,
I could make up words and call them “ours”
I could tell the majority they cannot say it.
I could even win an office just off what we call the “minority”
I could be anything I wanted if I were a minority,
But since I’m not, I guess I can dream about what I would do.
