If It’s So Meant To Be Poem by Sami Gjoka

If It’s So Meant To Be

If it’s meant to go again, hell to shame and hell to pain
From the running mare of joy if we’re to fall in mud
Like the fallen grass in rain or blood clogged in the vain
Like a hope and like a dream shed at stopping of each heart
If we’re heading for departure, to go tide behind the tide
To fall from the highest ladder to the furthest depth of night
Let’s not murmur, let’s not stutter, let’s be loud, let’s be bold
Let’s give our middle finger to the decency of old
Tell the manners, tell the morals, that are ancient, that are cold
Let’s be kind to rays that travel to touch skin and not your clothes
Let us free from the enslavement pleasures tied in rusted chains
Let us pour the touch of fevers across bodies all in flames
Let us run and be wild, let’s get naked, let’s make love
From the sunny burst of smiles to the lifeless dark below
’Till we cannot breathe no more!
