'If Not You, Then Who' Poem by Jude Rubangakene

'If Not You, Then Who'

Who will Be the leaders, the innovators, the change-makers of our land?
Who will plough the garden to plant the seeds that will feed the nation?
Who will inspire, motivate, and guide?
Who will be the change the nation craves for?
Shall we always have to betray our childhood dreams
of iving in peace, joy and harmony?
To be like the great peope we were told stories of
the people we watched inspire our purposeon this earth
If not you, then who will rise?
Who will take the risk, to reach infinity?
Who will push beyond their imits
And find the strength, to rise above the strain?
To stand for what is right?
Who will shine a light in the dark of night?
If not you, then who will care?
Who will lend a hand in showing heart most feltcare?
Tell me who will listen, empathize, and understand?
Whowillgrace a helping handin a troubled land?
If not you, then who will make a change?
Who will stand up, and rearrange
The status quo, the norms, the path to prosperity.
Who will take the lead, and rearrange?
The pieces of your life, the puzzles of your soul,
andfind the missing piece, that makes you whole?
If not you, then who? It's you, it's me, it's we, who must take the lead, and persevere.
It's you, its your power, that wil wipe away your fear.
You whothen wil speak out loud
toraise their voice, and challenge the crowd
from its bouncingechoes chasingto defeat the future
it is you the voice, the word, the passion, and drive,
To speak truth to power, to challenge, to aspire,
Tobethe cause for change, growth, and a better nation
The answer has always been you.
