Ignite It
By: Taylor Donnelly
Its like a summer is blazing in my stomach
And a lightning storm is in my head
So my eyes must be having an early spring rain
But these salty tears taste like the sea
So we can drive along the beach
Arms dragging though the wind wiped air
And see the birds as they cry too
The sun burns deep branding us
So we know when we leave that we are still it's
So don't you say that I've never been claimed
What I've never been is calmed
Peel this layer of disaster from my shoulders
Its just dead skin covering a dead heart
But with a little electricity we can ignite it again
Make it thud in this hollow chest
Make it echo in your ears again
