I'm not trying to fit in,
To blend with the crowd
I won't follow the trend,
Or be anyone's clown
I won't change my soul,
To match someone else's style
I'll be my own person,
And stand tall with a smile
I'm not trying to impress,
With material things
I won't buy into the lies,
That society brings
I won't chase their fame,
Or crave for their fame
I'll be content with my life,
And the little joys it brings
I'm not trying to please,
Every single soul
I won't mold myself,
To fit into their mold
I won't trade my values,
For someone else's approval
I'll stay true to myself,
And let my heart rule
I'm not trying to be perfect,
With every move I make
I won't hide my flaws,
Or make excuses for my mistakes
I won't seek their validation,
Or strive for their perfection
I'll embrace my imperfections,
For they are my unique reflection
I'm not trying to be someone,
That I am not
I won't wear a mask,
Or pretend to be what I'm not
I won't play their game,
Or dance to their tune
I'll be unapologetically me,
For that's my personal bloom
I'm not trying to please the world,
With every rhyme and verse
I won't write to fit in,
Or to make my words rehearse
I won't force my thoughts,
To fit into a certain mold
I'll let my words flow freely,
From the depths of my soul
I'm not trying to be profound,
Or write some deep meaning
I won't force my words,
To sound poetic and appealing
I won't compose for praise,
Or to impress the crowd
I'll pour my heart onto paper,
And let my words speak loud
I'm not trying to change the world,
With my words and voice
I won't preach my beliefs,
Or force them to make a choice
I won't judge their actions,
Or criticize their ways
I'll spread love and kindness,
In every word I say
I'm not trying to be anything,
But myself, it's true
I won't strive for perfection,
Or try to please you
I won't change my ways,
Or pretend to be what I'm not
I'll simply be me,
And that's all I've got.
